THE OSC EXPECTED TO CONTINUE PUSHING FOR GENDER EQUALITY

The confirmation of Maureen Jensen as the new chair and chief executive of the Ontario Securities Exchange Commission looks like good news for female executives in Canada. According to an article in today’s Financial Post, companies and investors can expect the issue of woman on boards to remain on the forefront of the OSC’s agenda.  At April Now, we believe the “comply or explain” disclosure regime is a powerful change agent, and we look forward to seeing the 722 TSX listed companies start taking meaningful actions to diversify their boards.
