Could
Behavior Science Offer Solutions To Gender Bias?
According to the Professor Iris Bohnet of
Harvard’s Kennedy School of Public Policy, companies and organizations
everywhere may need to get smarter to conquer gender bias. As discussed in her book, even those with the
best intentions may have hidden biases affecting how decisions are made. She provides the example of orchestras asking
musicians audition behind a screen for fairer decisions. As expected, when employing blind-decision
making, more woman were selected (and concerts were better). Everyone wins! At April Now – we believe there is much to be
learned from Professor Bohnet’s work, and we hope more companies everywhere
take her advice and leverage her tactics.
