Yahoo’s CEO
Marissa Mayer is putting a stop to its @home workers. Why? Because, as the article says, she is “no fool”. This swift overhaul comes 7 months in to her
post, and it can’t be a far stretch to suggest she’s identified the difference
in productivity between the employees that work at work and those that, well, don’t. Yes, in support of Mayer’s
naysayers, there are cultural issues and implications of distrust to consider.
But let’s be real: if something is broke – ie. the efficiency of staff at a
slacking Silicone Valley giant – you better fix it. We say “Good on Mayer” for
taking a bold step to haul her company back on track.
