CONDOLEEZZA RICE GOP’S LAST HOPE?

So, a last resort in ‘Project: Oust The Donald' is to endorse a third-party candidate. Insert: Condoleezza Rice, most viable pick and the Republicans' last hope of going down in style.  Could you imagine? Depending on what party you ride with, the consensus would be that the next president either could be a woman, or should have been a woman. These are desperate times for the GOP: Donald Trump - their possible front-runner to take on Hilary Clinton for POTUS 2016 - has to go.

WOMEN ARE MISSING IN THE CAUCUS

Women comprise half of PM Trudeau’s cabinet members but are barely represented in the more crucial House of Commons committees. While our PM is making moves on this, it seems the best chance for more diversity in the caucus – and beyond- is more women in leadership roles.

In comparison to male MPs, we’d like some harder evidence that women are “more pragmatic and work harder”, as NDP deputy Irene Mathyssen implies. But other than qualifications, she’s right: our drawing card as women is that we can bring a different perspective to the table, and this is the perfect ‘pro’ in support of gender diversity.
