Female board
directors are present in just about half of TSX-listed companies;
they’re almost non-existent in smaller companies; and there’s a pretty firm correlation
between gender diversity and companies with significantly larger profit
margins. So why isn’t enough being done to reel more of them in? We get the
stance for merit-based appointing, but right now all roads – ie. the Canadian
Securities Administrators review - point to the financial benefit of recruiting
more women directors. That’s right ladies, we’ve got the magic touch!
